01 - Your blood once froze

Your blood once froze

Your blood once froze like the moon,
In the endless night

Your blood spread its white wings
on the black rocks,

the shapes of the trees and the houses
with a little light from our childhood.

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

02 - I held your pulse

...
My fingers on the soft grass,
found your fingers
I held your pulse a moment
and I felt elsewhere the pain of your heart
I held your pulse for a moment
and I felt the pain of your heart elsewhere.

Under the plane tree,
near the water,
in the laurels
Sleep moved you
and tore you to pieces
around me, close to me,
without being able to touch you
the whole
united with your silence

united with your silence
watching your shadow grow
and shrinking,

disappearing into the other shadows,
in the other world that left you and held you.

My fingers on the soft grass,
found your fingers
I held your pulse for a moment
and I felt elsewhere the pain of your heart
I held your pulse for a moment
and I felt the pain of your heart elsewhere.

Give us, out of sleep
Give us out of sleep,
peace.

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

03 - This is where the works of the sea end

This is where the works of the sea end

Here end the works of the sea
The works of love

Those who will one day live
Here we end
If by chance their blood is blackened in their memory
The blood and spill

Let them not forget us
The weak souls in the asphodel
Let them turn their heads to the grave,
The heads of the victims

We who had nothing
We will teach them peace.

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

04 - HYDRA

The sea so bitter for your soul once,
lifted the colorful and shining ships
bending and flapping and all white-winged,
So bitter for your soul once
now full of colours in the sun.

White sails and light
And the oars were wet
beat with the beat of a drum
a sun-drenched wave.

It would have been nice if your eyes had looked
It would be bright your hands would be bright to reach out
thy lips would be as once thy lips were lively
in the face of such a dazzle
you sought.

White sails and light
and the oars wet
beat with the beat of a drum
a heated wave.

What were you looking for in the ashes or in the rain
in the mist in the wind,
while the lights were still dim
and the state was sinking and the plates were sinking
The Nazarene showed you his heart,
What were you looking for? Why don't you come? What were you looking for?

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

06 - SANTORINI

Bend if you can into the dark sea
Forgetting the sound of a flute
On bare feet that have been stepped on
your sleep in another life sunk.

Write if you can on your last shell
the name of the day and the place
and cast it into the sea to sink.

We found ourselves naked on the
alafrostone
Looking at the emerging islands
watching the red islands sink
in their sleep, in our sleep.

Here we were naked, carding
the scales that weighed
on the side of injustice.

Heel of power, willpower untested
reckoned love
in the noonday sun plans ripening,
fate's way with the stroke
of the new palm on the shoulder blade.

In the place where it is scattered that cannot endure
To the place that was once ours
the islands sink in rust and ashes.

Shrines shattered
And friends forgotten
Palm leaves in the mud.

Let your hands, if you can, travel
Here in the rush of time
with the ship that touched the horizon.
When the cube hit the plate

When the spear struck the breastplate
When the eye met the stranger
And love dried up
in holey souls.

When you look around and find
the circle of reaped feet
circle the hands dead
circle the dark eyes.

When you can't even choose
The death you have chosen for yourself
Hearing one more cry
and the wolf's cry, thine own.

Let your hands if you can travel.
"Let go of the faithless weather.
and sink.

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

05 - Southwind I

A mountain range merges with the sea in the west.
The south wind blows and drives us mad,
That wind that strips the bones from the flesh.
Our home in the pines and carob trees.

Big windows. Big tables
To write the letters we write to you
All these months
And we drop them
Into separation to fill

We each write you the same things
And we each keep silent before the other
looking at each other,
Each one, the same world apart
The light
And the darkness in the mountain range and you.

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

07 - ¨Southwind ΙΙ

¨Star of Dawn,
when you lower your eyes
our hours were sweeter
Than the oil
on the wound,
more delightful than cold water
on the palate,
more peaceful than the swan's wings.

You held our lives in your plan.
After the bitter bread of the foreign land
In the night if we stay
before the white wall
Your voice comes to us
Like a fire's breath

And again this wind is sharpening
upon our nerves a razor's edge.

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

08 - Our place is closed

Our place is closed, all mountains
that are covered by the low sky day and night.
We have no rivers we have no wells we have no springs
only a few cisterns,
empty ones too,
that sound and that we worship.

A sound that is hollowed out,
the same as our loneliness, the same as our love,
the same as our bodies.
It seems strange to us
that once we could build
our houses and huts and barns.
And our weddings, our cool wreaths and fingers
become enigmas
Inexplicable to our souls?
How were our children born how did they grow strong?

Our place is closed.
It is closed by the two black clusters.
In the ports on Sunday
When we go down to breathe
we see them light up in the sunrise
Broken wood from journeys that have not ended
bodies that no longer know how to love.

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

10 - Woman who has lost the light

"Sails on the winds of the wind
the mind has held no more of the day.
Pine scent and silence
will easily heal the wound
That the sailor made in leaving
The wound the cockatrice and the cockchafer.
Woman left without a touch,
heard the winds bury her.

Empty the golden barrel
The sun became a rag
On a middle-aged woman's neck
that coughs and has no end.
The summer she traveled saddens her
with the softening of her shoulders and her brow.
Woman who has lost the light,
listen, sings the blind man.

Darken. Close the windows.
Make shots with yesterday's reeds,
and don't open them while they're ringing.
They shout but have nothing to say.
Take cyclamen, pine needles,
lilies of the sand, and anemones from the sea.
Woman who has lost her mind
Listen, the spell of water is passing...

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

09 - Escape

Our love was no more
It was leaving and coming back and bringing us back
A lowered eyelash
Far, far away, far away
A marbled smile
Lost in the morning grass
A strange shell
That she tried to explain
Our soul, our soul, our soul, our soul

Our love was no other
It whispered slowly through things
# That kept us around
To explain
Why we don't want to die with such passion

And if we held on by the skin of our teeth
And if we embraced with all our strength
Other necks, other necks
And if we have joined our breath
With that man's breath
And if we closed our eyes.
There was no other, only this pain
To hold on in flight, in flight, in flight, in flight,

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

11 - Τhe light

As the years go by
the judges who condemn you multiply :
as the years go by and you chat with fewer voices,

you see the sun with new eyes.
you know how those who have remained,
laughed at you,
The mockery of flesh, the beautiful dance that ends in nudity.

As, in the night, turning into the wasteland, you suddenly catch the gleam of an animal's eyes
that are already gone, so you feel the eyes
your_

you look at the sun, then you are lost in the darkness _ the Doric tunic
that touched your fingers and bent like the mountains,
is a marble in the light, but his head is in darkness.

And those who left the palace to take the bows
and struck the willful marathon runner
and he saw the sling sailing in the blood
and the world emptied like the moon
and the victorious orchards withered.
You see them in the sun, behind the sun.

And the children who made macaroons out of sticks
Go like spiders still nodding, bodies naked sinking in the black light with a legalism in their teeth, still swimming,

as the sun stitches with soft stitches
coils and wet woods and pelagic colours.
still now descend slanting
to the pebbles of the bottom
the white lichens.

Angelic and black, light,
laughter of the waves on the waves of the point, tearful laughter,
the old beggar sees you.
going to stride the invisible plates mirrored in his blood
who gave birth to Eteocles and Polynices.

Angelic and black, with.

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

12 - Τhe Orchard (M.R.)

The orchard with its fountains in the rain
You'll see them only from the low window
behind the cloudy glass.

Your chamber will be lit only by the flame of the tank
and one day, in the distant lightning
the wrinkles of your forehead will show,
my old friend.

The orchard of fountains that was in your hand,
that was in your hand the rhythm of another life,
outside the broken marbles
and the tragic columns

and a dance among the oleanders
near the new quarries,
and a dance among the oleanders
near the new quarries,
A dull glass
will have been cut from your hours.

Thou shalt not breathe. The soil and the sap of the trees
will rush from your memory
to strike
on the glass
that which the rain beats down
from the outside world.

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

13 - We're sorry because I left

We're sorry because I left
To let a wide river pass
Through my fingers

Without drinking
not a drop.
Now I'm sinking into the stone.
A small pine tree in the red soil,
I have no other company.

Everything I loved is gone
With the houses
that were new last summer
and torn down with the autumn wind.

Lyrics: Giorgos Seferis

Zotos sings Theodorakis

01 - BEAUTIFUL CITY

Beautiful city, musical voices
endless streets, stolen glances
the sun gilds, hands sown
mountains and yapia seas spread out.
You will be mine
Before the night comes
The pale lights
before they cast their nets
you will be mine.
The night has come
The windows are closed
The night has fallen
The streets are gone.

"Deserters"
Lyrics: Yannis Theodorakis

02 - ROADS THAT I GOT LOST

Corners where I stood
tears I believed
games in the water.
Bitter the evening arrives.
Nights I cried
Bridges I burned
Stars I loved
Where I go and what I find.
Bitter the evening arrives.
Words I've forgotten
Friends I've lost
Poor old me
Let's go now, you and I.
Bitter night is coming.

"The Lyric"
Lyrics: Tasos Livaditis

03 - THE WAVE

The bug whistles on the roof
They take you and take you to the courtyard
Chapels and islands without tamarind
You won't remember for the rest of your life.
Closed and low the little chamber
Years ago it would have been a laundry room
But you, little boy, little lad,
you have poisoned this time
With a nail and a mirror
when you cut your veins, I think.
I speak to the Virgin Mary and thy Judge.
I count thy years with sorrow
But tell me if thy tormentor has
if he have eyes, mouth and throat.
The chamber is closed and low.
would have been a laundry room years ago.
but thou little child, little lad,
thou hast poisoned this time
With a nail and a mirror
when you cut your veins, I think.

"Songs of Struggle",
Lyrics: Manos Eleftheriou

04 - FART' THE WINDOW

Tonight don't talk about poems
and the pain that breaks your kidneys.
The next door doesn't hear the knocks
With the rain, the messages don't get through.
Close the window and the water comes in.
The hallway smells of iodine
And the one in the back was brought up.
They had him in the basement overnight,
the wire would be electrified
that they'd touch in his closed mouth.
Tonight, don't talk of poems
and the pain that breaks your kidneys.
The next door doesn't hear the knocks,
the rain can't get the messages.
Close the window and the water comes in.

"Songs of Struggle",
Lyrics: Manos Eleftheriou

05 - HEAVENLY RIVERS

Epirus rivers, underground streams
go down splashing,
Dream Street, Omonia, Silva, Silva, Silva,
their waters blonde,
two layers of blond,
two layers of green,
In the middle me, red grasshopper,
harmonica wings, sounds of water,
lizards, moons,
diving, sinking, drowning,
bars, bars, bars, bars,
Silva, Silva.

"Sun and Time"
Lyrics: Mikis Theodorakis

06 - IN THE RAIN

In the rain, in the night slowly, they walk
those who sell music,
Wearing poor ash hats,
violins in their hands
Like dead children.
At the station, sometimes they stop
They stare off into nowhere,
For them the trains don't start
And they go that way
Where the music cries.

"The Lyric"
Lyrics: Tasos Livaditis

07 - FATEFUL SONG OF THE RAIN

Fate of the rain
Sunday evening,
where you go monk
nor door to enter,
no stone to stand on
And wherever you go, pale child,
thy woe in the corner
waits for thee.
You pale boy
In the cave
We're the only two left,
Your grief is a hoarseness
Stop hurting
Life is passing quickly
Two wines, two sighs
And farewell
You pale old man
He's seen you dead
At the old crossroads,
the rain is a fatality
echoing blackly
To the good, pale child,
like the witch
Sunday has taken you.

"The Lyric"
Lyrics: Tasos Livaditis

08 - THE CELLS ARE BREATHING

The cells are breathing,
the cells that are high up,
the cells that lie low.
The rain unites us,
the sun is ashamed to appear, Nico,
George, I'm holding on to a flower.

"Sun and Time"
Lyrics: Mikis Theodorakis

09 - CANCELLATION

The wind gave birth to the night and the sea
and became the sea and the sea knew its depth.
And the night gave birth to the trees and the grass
and became the sky and the birds of the sky and the full moon
and became light and the light knew its glory.
Two days.
The wind gave birth to bitterness and music
and became a tear and the tear gave birth to our eyes
and bitterness gave birth to the seasons and the birds
and the mountains were filled with wild animals, reptiles and colours
and became a road and the roads knew their fate.
Two days.
The wind gave birth to stone and iron.
And he became a man and the man knew his power
And the stone gave birth to mud and toil
And he became a knife and nails and a cloud
and he became a woman and the woman knew her loneliness
and loneliness filled my grief and sorrow.
Fourteen generations of days.

"Arcadia II"
Lyrics: Manos Eleftheriou

10 - FADES

(My love)

My star, my moon
my spring twig
I will come to you again
to you I will come to you at dawn
To take a kiss from you
And you'll take me again
The river is shallow
And the ocean is small
to take my grief.
To take away your eyes
To sell your vows
from my account.
My love, my love
the night will take us
The stars and the sky
the cold, the moon
I'll love you, I'll live in song
You'll love me, you'll live with the birds
I'll love you, we'll be a song
You'll love me, we'll be birds
My love, my love...

Lyrics: Yannis Theodorakis

11 - ELENA

On the fourth floor
your mom is sleeping Elena, Elena, Elena, Elena.
Musical aunt her dreams, her dreams,
her dreams Pepino Di Capri.
Musical auntie, her dreams, her dreams,
Pepino DiCaprio's dreams.
Across the sea don't wake her up.

"Sun and Time" Lyrics: Mikis Theodorakis

12 - STEAM COVERED OUR LOVE

Dawn fluffy, axe in the back
From the chimneys the smoke escaped
And hung through our windows
Steam steam steam steam covered our love
The night was absolute peace
In the hanging carcasses of our clothes

"Deserters"
Lyrics: Yannis Theodorakis

13 - CHATHIKA

I got lost in the streets
that bound me forever
Along with the alleys, along with the harbors.
I was lost because I didn't have the wings
and I had you, Katiniot.
Because I had dreams.
And the port and the harbour are small
For I was always alone and I'll always be
Always alone

"Deserters"
Lyrics: Yannis Theodorakis

14 - I OPEN THE DOOR AT NIGHT

I open the door at night,
I hold the lamp high,
for the sad of the earth to see,
to come and find companionship.
To find a table laid,
A stall for the sorrow to drink
And among us shall stand
the pain, the world's brother.
Let them find a corner to lean on,
a stool for the blind to sit on
And there as we speak
And Christ will be our companion.

"The Lyric"
Lyrics: Tasos Livaditis

15 - THOSE WHO WILL COME

Those who will come one night
Will find our tears
They'll find wounds and smoke
and ashes our joy.
And if they take my voice
I'll leave my grief
And if my grief becomes a stranger
I'll leave my dream.
And if they take away my years
In my blood they'll stay
And if my blood becomes water
"and birds will drink it.

"Arcadia II"
Lyrics: Manos Eleftheriou

Amour Fou

01 - Go away

Oh, go away from me
Away as far as it can go.
And if my sad eyes seek thee
of a dream that has stolen the footsteps to find.

A moment more of my time
stay not. Oime
Not a flower pale in my heart
and if thou art a deceiver, thou shalt deceive me.

And more than me
the heart is mad.
Your frightened eyes told me so.
I remember the first night in the garden.

Lyrics: Maria Polidouri

02 - Dream

I was picking flowers for you
On the mountain I was wandering around
A thousand thorns each
and as I clutched them I ached.

To pass by
To the frozen north
And I held my gift
with longing guarded

in my warm embrace.
I kept looking into the distance.
The longing in my heart
And in my eyes the torch.

In my desire I did not see
The black night was silent
And I wept without hope
that I had not brought you alone.

Lyrics: Maria Polidouri

03 - Come WIth Me

Come with me, if you wanted to come up
to this otherworldly peak.
Just don't want to go down
There's nowhere to go back to.

Thou shalt pay for thy worries,
...not as in former times, with a spoil.
Now for the first time thou shalt surrender
and thy last still contemplation.

And then the spell shall be broken.
We shall be alone in the chamber.
All around will be lost in one round
and we'll be like hanging bodies.

Our hands alone, our hair
shall touch in the terrible void.
Like a wind will take our speech
and be a common obstacle,

while in our words it shall blow
...the doom of our own souls.
(And with all this to look like young men
and not even that lacking in adornment!)

Lyrics: Maria Polidouri

04 - ΝΑΝurism

Pale little sister
the day arrives
And in your little eyes
sleep is not coming.

What's troubling you
And you have the look
hard as a flower.
that has been cut off?

I know what loves
...that thou dost close in thy bosom.
You want flowers
and fairy tales.

Today, all of them,
before the reign
I'll go to the garden
that you have planted.

All for me
will rise again.
I'll be sad,
They'll love me

And they'll give me
Something of their own
The dewdrop,
their secret.

And a story
Each one will have a story.
They'll tell it
Slowly to me

And I'll bring you
You hear me? You're sleepy.
Like you're asleep.
and yet you're waving.

I'm close to you,
lulling you to sleep.
Your suffering
bitterly I know

Only sleep
Doesn't say "remember"
Pale little sister
is shivering... Sleep...

Lyrics: Maria Polidouri

05 - Not by Boat

Not by boat, I want a boat
in your deep bay to fly,
in your little harbour, to moor quietly,
and send you kisses for a long time,

my little city, my white joy.
And then my heart shall be lighter,
thy breeze shall feather my sails,
my enslaved weak wings,

I'll fly again without hindrance.
I am light in thy contemplation.
and all at once, with thy separation
sweetly be my guide.

Lyrics: Maria Polidouri

06 - Near You

Near you the winds do not blow wildly.
Thy conda is peace and light.
In our minds the golden wind.
The rosy wrapped contemplation.

Near thee the silence is like laughter
That touches the tender eyes
and if we speak once, it flames,
and by our side somewhere the unemployed joy.

Near thee sorrow blooms like a flower
and passes unnoticed through life.
Near thee all is sweet and all is fluff,
Like a caress, like a dew, like a breath.

Lyrics: Maria Polidouri

07 - Dedication

Silver the front. And nice
your eyes were blue.
The piano as you opened, two new
roses shimmered in vases.
But your rattles were roses.

Thy hands were wringing, thy hands were earning
The hubs were retreating. The notes,
the melody as a prize.
We were listening. And the feelings, binders.
that won their freedom.

I don't remember well, it's been years,
but how you sang.
Unless they were nightingales.
Lallo or mute, thy lip is a faucet,
deer, weary of the years.

The butterfly will always fly
leaving pollen on her fingers.
Thy hand is silk,
and you are lost. From the window
The butterfly will always fly...

Lyrics: Kostas Karyotakis

08 - To a Friend

I think one night, turning to the road that takes me,
I'll come to find you alone with your old dream.
Hespera's subtle shadows will languidly creep,
passing to the lonely, passing to the lonely,
Passing to thy lonely front window.

In thy silent chamber thou shalt receive me and be
books around in silence deeply abandoned.
Side by side we shall sit. We'll tell of all that is gone,
for what is dead before we lose it,

the bitterness of unhappy life, of boredom,
for not expecting anything to come true,
for decay, and silence in the dark silence
our speech and our last thought will be extinguished.

But the night at the window will come to stop
The myrrh and starlight and aura will stir
With the great call that Nature will breathe,
with your heart that silence will not protect.

Lyrics: Maria Polidouri

09 - Why You Loved Me

I'm not singing but because you loved me
in years gone by.
And in the sun, in the summer's bloom
And in rain, in snow,
I sing but because you loved me.

Only because you held me in your arms
one night and kissed me on the mouth,
Only for that I am like a lily wide open
And I have a shiver in my soul still,
Only because you held me in your arms

Only because your eyes held me
with the soul in the gaze,
proudly adorned the supreme
of my existence,
only because your eyes have filled me.

Only for thy choicest love
the dawn gave me a rose in my hands.
To light for a moment thy way
the night filled my eyes with stars,
for thy chosen love alone.

Only because you loved me so well
I have lived to multiply
Thy dreams, fair one, that thou hast reigned
and so sweetly I die.
only because you loved me so well.

Lyrics: Maria Polidouri

10 - Everything is Fine

Everything is fine.
Everything is love and love's desire
I'll let it all slip away.
So beautiful as they die
So fatal
and silent.

I have a favor.
In my prime I wear a crown
the withering.
I have a grace. What they have given me
And they have taken away
the celebration.

For I am dying.
I become beautiful, I become love
that they crave.
And all I do is die. All around me the flowers
I'll make them bloom
to wither away!

Lyrics: Maria Polidouri

11 - The Smile

Tonight is like a dream of a dinner party
Tonight the spider's web is in the spell.
It's not raining anymore. And the daughter's a renegade
On the drenched clover she lay.

Like two cherries the lips parted
And so deep and pale as breathing,
In her breast up and down
the palest rose of April.

From the clouds the rays escape
and hide themselves in her eyes.
A lemon tree with two dewdrops
that stood on her cheek like diamonds.
And you can feel her tears running
As she smiles at the sun unveiled.

Lyrics: Kostas Karyotakis

12 - Come Sweeter

Come on, sweetie, and if the night comes
and you don't like the darkness,
starry dull wreath
my love will wear you.

On your troubled brow
I will slowly draw my fingers
and whatever is passionate in your heart
shall blossom with tears and myrrh.

I'll pin a flower on you
a dream on your heart,
I will weave the dry leaves
with your pale hair.

I will leave my bound desire,
a drugged butterfly,
and so on thy lips thou shalt feel
something like a pollen to stay with thee.

Come, sweet, and let the night come.
Thy youth shall flow with sorrow.
to weave the dark veil.
that shall cover me voluptuously.

Lyrics: Maria Polidouri

13 - Evening

The little children playing in the spring dinner
A distant cry
The breeze that speaks with the roses' lips
Whispers and stays

The open windows that breathe the hour,
My empty chamber
A train coming from an unknown land,
My lost dreams

The bells that go out, and the evening that falls
Ever in the city,
in the face of men, in the mirror of heaven,
in my life now all...

Lyrics: Kostas Karyotakis

14 - Love

Her face is cold and violet
And I was the crude asphodel.
How the awakening of a youth has shaken me
How my bitter lips laughed.

As if her eyes had told me
I am no longer the castaway and the only one
and I gave way as if from tenderness,
I who had been turned to stone by pain.

Lyrics: Kostas Karyotakis

Die leisen Stimmen der Erinnerung

01 - If you don't know how to cry

Two black wings are my mind
And I feel like weighing them like a hawk
over a desolate land.

If you don't know how to cry
don't look for your tears.

And you no longer expect me to give you anything else.
You've got it all. And all I think
you buried it deep.

If you don't know how to cry
don't look for your tears.

That's better. Don't see them
And remember
the great pain I planted
once upon a time in the years of old.

If you don't know how to cry
Don't look for your tears.

                                                                                              Greetings, 1981

02 - Erotic song

My whole thought is a blossoming almond bough
hanging in your window.
My voice speaks to you in a thousand colors and a thousand mystic hues, and yet you remain submerged
the dream of your life that is crying by a flame of bliss.

Look at the moons melting in tears
Look at the tears that burn like stars
Look at the stars that look like the countless
hopes of the hearts that the denial of life
Revealed their destiny!

And don't wake up! You will not have here to know
Nothing more than you already know
for even the pain that marks you with a star
The thoughtful front of life has refused
denied itself and became like him tonight.

joy!

                                                            Athens, 1946

Little Narcissists

My chest was too wide to fit
the little jasmine you sowed
with your delicate fingers this night
in my heart.

I didn't see you at all -
I could not fail to see
in such darkness.
But I felt your eyes
all over my skin running through me
And I could still guess
the little Narcissus fallen
on their green-blue waters

                                                      Athens, 1946

03 - I'll come find you

Three moons upside down
in a handful of water.
A broken ship full
of larks and violets.
I passed before you and you were
yesterday's rain.

I'll come to find you holding
with a string stretched out in my hand.
You know the little anemones that grow in April?
I'd love to hang them side by side
in a frame.

There's no other way to tell you
my dreams are beating me for you...
I'll come to you holding
a string stretched in my hand.

 I have nothing else
out of my ragged sleeve.
I no longer suffer the voice of the birds.
I passed before you and you were
yesterday's rain.

I'll come to find you holding
with a string stretched out in my hand.

04 - The cracked melody of Serenity

Somewhere in the dead end
To paint a false door.
A door that opens too late
until the walls have disappeared.
If they have time to disappear
before the perfect suffocation.

You were passing on the next street
and you knew everything. The night was wrong
She forgot her formal black.
Forgot its false mysteries
and drowned in desire.
They found her at dawn, but they didn't know her.

 You reach out your hand
And the furniture secretly trembles
without you knowing it's all crazy,
You don't know it.
And I'm drowning in all the rivers of the night.

                                                                       Greetings, 1981

And while you were still in the light,
the night lay awake at your side.
And they were lurking above you
The wild winds
when the still broken melody of Serenity
Hissed sweetly sweet to thee...

                                                                       Ikaria, 1947

05 - Words of love

Words of love like the leaves of spring
A sun came and kissed us on the lips.
Five lads and a lady dancing
And the heart in the mouth.
Like twigs blossoming with a grace
five loves mingle and kiss the grass.

                                    Eros and Death, 1946

 This sea
looks as if it has shuddered with my desire.
I want to find a boat to sail.
To know the lands that lie beyond the horizon
The thoughts that lie behind your eyes.

                                     Athens, 1946

06 - The silent voices of your memory

...
Send your hand to stroke my hair
Send me your voice to make my dreams sleep

Show me your face
Let me see my boot
my nobility
my lady...

                                                The Sun and Time, 1967

How to shout when I don't want to
I was lost from every thought from every memory
I existed only in your imagination
but in my imagination that no longer existed.

                                                Evdilos, Ikaria, 1949

show me your face
Let me see my boot
my nobility
my lady

And we remember... the... red carnations
on the cloudy carpet of the sky
In the thousand flashes of some light
will now protect the soft voices of your memory...

                                                Evdilos, Ikaria, 1949

show me your face
Let me see my boot
my nobility
my lady

07 - Me and her

When the evening comes
And drive the day away
I want to come to you
With my dream...
With my eyes downcast
I'll take your hand
With my mouth closed
I'll say "I love you"

Dreams, dreams
Oh, just dreams!
My dream, my life
"My dream, my dream, my dream
The night of the day

Step by step, step by step
We'll go to the park
And in our arms
Looking at the stars
With our hands together

We'll listen silently
Of life and night
the song with the same
the first tune...

Dreams, dreams...

                                                                    Tripoli, 1942

08 - The voice of silence

The drunken sun
the earth shattered
like an ancient shipwreck
and again the void
with the taste of fullness.

Orphan time
silently prays a voice
the only
that came out of the silence
For it does not touch the silence.

Ancient shipwreck
like the shy stars - the wounded ones
by the void
the void with the soul of completeness
drunk with the voice
the voice of silence.

                                                Buenos Aires, 1973

09 - Little Fantasy

You came like a breeze and left the heavens
on our lips with a kiss.
And you passed us by. And we watched you ecstatically melt
in the Infinite Light!

Now nothing remains
to remind us of your passing.
Now nothing remains
to remind us of your passing.

Only our kissed lips have become nightingales
that sigh and fly towards every glow
Only our kissed lips have become nightingales
That sigh and fly towards every glow

"So that you and your kiss may not be you and your kiss.
"If it were not you and your kiss.

                                                      Athens, 1943

The trees that separate us became rooms
The flowers are blossoms
The gardens and the bugs
desks, papers, locks

chaos filled with chaos
Love.

The chaos is filled with chaos
Love.

The Sun and Time, 1967

10 - Wounded Nightingale

A wounded nightingale
Came and fell tonight
in your blooming garden.
Then all was quiet
and your footsteps came to join
the wounded Silence.
Now thou keepest cold
in your softness inside
the dead pain of Love.

And you are ready to fly
To the destinies that bear
the canopy of this night
In a triumphant and doubtful wave
and to be drunk as a sneaking thought
by the most posthumous pain
of some wounded nightingale!

11 - Your love is dripping

As soon as the sky tears
I went to the window
When the lightning strikes
And the day will be tilted

Your love will drip
My heart will be like ice

All the drops of rain
I've collected for you
All the pains of life
I have gathered them from you

Your love is dripping
My heart is ice
